Trade Service Specialist

We’re recruiting for a Trade Service Specialist to join a well-established industrial services business in Christchurch. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys combining customer service with practical, workshop-based work.

The role In this position, you’ll play a key part in keeping operations running smoothly, from serving customers at the counter to assembling hoses and managing stock. You’ll work closely with both customers and technicians to ensure the right solutions are delivered quickly and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service at the trade counter and over the phone
• Process customer orders, transfers, and goods inwards/outwards
• Manufacture hose assemblies and kits to customer specifications
• Maintain stock levels and complete regular cycle counts
• Assist with annual stocktake and inventory control
• Dispatch technicians and follow up service jobs
• Ensure compliance with health and safety, and quality processes
• Support workshop activities including machining and basic welding

About you You’re someone who enjoys practical work and takes pride in delivering great service. You’re organised, adaptable, and confident communicating with both customers and team members. Ideally, you’ll also bring:

• Mechanical aptitude or exposure to the fluid power industry
• Experience in a trade, workshop, or industrial environment
• Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail
• Experience using Microsoft Office
