Internal Communications and Design Specialist

Due to a period of parental leave we're looking for an Internal Comms and Design Specialist to take the reins for a 12 month fixed term contract (either full time of 4 days a week) in our Wellington or Auckland offices.

We have a team of around 600 people and need someone to help drive our internal comms landscape. You'll be the creative engine that brings our strategy and stories to life using a masterful mix of traditional and non-traditional formats to ensure every message cuts through. We're looking for a communicator who thrives on thinking outside the box to ensure our people understand the impact they have and love the work they're doing.

Here is what you can expect from this role:

• AI Journey: You'll lead the way in communicating our AI transformation, ensuring our people have the right info at the right time
• Channel Ownership: You'll own our internal channels, driving better ways for our people to engage with content. This includes supporting our CEO with all-company messages, monthly meetings and collaborating with a range of other teams including our Workplace team, our Employee Network Groups and our external Brand and Comms team
• Intranet: You'll own our intranet, ensuring content is relevant, easy to navigate and actually helps people stay up to date and get things done
• Strategy: You'll help take complex business concepts and translate these through story-telling and imagery to connect our people to our strategy
• AI for efficiency: You'll get stuck in with AI tools to find ways to remove manual touchpoints so we can focus on where we best add value and to surface the right info to our people when they need it
• Design: You'll use your design expertise to take our written comms and turn them into something more - think visuals, videos, content that pops!

What you will bring to our team:

• Internal comms experience: A great background in internal comms, showcasing initiative in exploring different ways to connect people
• Adaptability: You are comfortable in a fast-paced environment where no two weeks are the same
• Relationships: You build quick trust and great relationships across the business
• Visually Driven: You've got design skills to create content that pops - video skills are a huge plus!
• Future-Ready: You're AI-curious or already an expert at using new tech to level up
• Proactivity: This is a sole charge Comms and Design role, so you'll be comfortable driving your work programme aligned to that of the wider People and Culture team
