Welder Engineer - Gisborne Port

About the Role

We’re looking for a skilled Welder Engineer to join our Bluff-based operational team on the port. In this hands-on role you’ll carry out fabrication maintenance and repair work on a wide range of heavy off-road machinery including loaders material handlers and terminal tractors. You’ll be based at the Bluff port with access to the right tools gear and support.

Location: Gisborne Port

Status: Full-time Mon-Fri 0730 - 1630

Specific Responsibilities:

• Carry out welding fabrication and repairs on heavy machinery and port equipment
• Monitor and replace worn attachments and components
• Provide technical input to improve component quality and longevity
• Maintain a safe work environment and report incidents promptly

Who we're after:

• Must have a NZQA Level 4 Trade Qualification (or overseas equivalent)
• Proven experience heavy equipment welding plus solid understanding of welding practices.
• Able to work independently and as part of a small team.
• Bring a positive can-do attitude to the role.
