ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Butchery Assistant, your primary role will be to pack, present and merchandise to ensure that a maximum range and sufficient quantity of product is available for sale at the correct price at all times, as well as keeping the department clean, attractively presented, and assist the department to meet its legislative requirements. Some of the key areas for the role will be:

• Correctly and efficiently delivering high quality meat cuts whilst reducing wastage.
• Assisting in the traying of meat as required.
• Undertaking stocktake, appropriately stocking the cases and freezers with high merchandising standards.
• Assisting in prepping special customer orders.
• Assisting in ensuring all deliveries are unloaded in a timely fashion thus avoiding wastage.
• Assisting in ensuring all appropriate cleaning takes place in the department.
• Follow Health and Safety Policy, Food Safety Policy and compliance procedures in the store.
• Completing appropriate daily, weekly and monthly food safety traceability forms as required.

ABOUT THE CANDIDATE

Here is what we are looking for in the ideal candidate:

• Previous experience in a Butchery/knife-hand is a MUST!
• A "can do" attitude
• Physically fit and able to fulfil the requirements of the role
• Ability to effectively communicate at all levels
• Comply with our food control plan / health and safety programme
• Right to work in New Zealand
