Description
We are seeking an experienced Asset Acceptance Advisor to join our Asset Management team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the quality, safety, and compliance of network construction by auditing completed works, some in-progress underground works and contributing to continuous improvement across our Delivery Partners.
About the role
This role is largely fieldbased with some office duties, and includes inspecting overhead and underground works, identifying defects, raising rework actions, and working directly with Delivery Partners to ensure construction meets WEL's quality, safety, and design standards. You'll play a key role in identifying issues, improving build quality, and assuring the longterm performance of our assets.
Key responsibilities include the following:
- Quality assurance audit of OPEX and CAPEX projects (faults, overhead, underground, quotable works)
- Identifying nonconformances and raising rework actions
- Analysis of contractor performance to identify trends and training opportunities
- Maintaining accurate audit records and performance data
- Support updates to the Design and Construction Manual through field-based feedback
- Assist Quality Management System audits and continuous improvement initiatives
This is a field-based role with a strong analytical and reporting component.
About you:
- Registered Electrician or an advanced Trade Certificate or equivalent industry experience
- Minimum 10 years' experience in the electrical distribution industry
- Strong overhead and underground network construction experience
- Sound understanding of design, construction quality, compliance and safety standards
- Comfortable working independently in the field and making sound technical judgements
- Be confident in the use of computers - this role will include regular reporting and comprehensive auditing documentation
