Site Lead – Evergreen Landcare | Manawatu / Horowhenua

Evergreen Landcare is one of New Zealand's leading civil landscaping and environmental services companies, with over 40 years of experience in hydroseeding, erosion control, land restoration, and commercial landscaping. We're looking for an experienced Site Lead to join our team in the Manawatu/Horowhenua region. About the Role

This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll run day-to-day project delivery on site — making sure work is completed safely, on time, and to a high standard. You'll lead a small crew, plan the work, solve problems as they come up, and take ownership of site performance. You'll be spending your time out on site, not behind a desk.

What You'll Be Doing

• Leading your crew from the front — setting expectations, communicating daily plans, and driving progress
• Planning and coordinating site operations, materials, and resources.
• Maintaining high standards of health, safety, and quality on every job
• Conducting toolbox talks, site inspections, and JSAs
• Completing daily job sheets, timesheets, and site records accurately
• Building strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
• Looking after site plant, vehicles, and equipment

What You'll Bring

• Horticultural experience (must have)
• Good plant identification skills, particularly NZ natives
• Growsafe qualification and good pest plant ID knowledge
• Proven experience leading teams on landscaping, civil, or environmental sites
• Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental requirements
• Ability to read plans, manage materials, and keep things running efficiently.
• A practical, can-do attitude and solid work ethic

Nice to Have

• Class 2 licence and Wheels, Tracks & Rollers (WTR) — an advantage but not a dealbreaker
