Description
We're looking for a skilled, reliable Drainlayer to join a busy civil crew working across Wellington. This is a long-term role with a clear pathway to permanent employment for the right person. Depending on your experience, you may also have opportunities to lead and support the team on site.
Key responsibilities:
- Getting hands-on with trenching and pipe laying
- Trenching, spotting, and working safely around excavators
- Reading drainage plans and ensuring work runs efficiently
- Installing key infrastructure like stormwater, sewer, and water mains
- Working alongside skilled tradespeople, subcontractors, and project managers
What we can offer:
- $30 - $45 per hour + PPE provided
- Full time work, Monday to Friday

What we're looking for:
- NZ Drainlayer qualification/certification
- 2+ years of hands-on civil drainage experience
- Full Class 1 Driver Licence (2, W, T, R endorsements a bonus)
- Ability to read and interpret technical plans
- Competent using drainage tools and machinery
- Reliability, motivation, and a strong team mindset
