JOB OPPORTUNITY: Construction Plumber - Antarctica Expedition
Project Duration: 8 Weeks (March 2026 - May 2026) Location: Antarctica Research Station Deployment Type: Short-term Contract
The Mission Join an elite construction team for a critical 8-week mechanical plumbing project in one of the most extreme environments on Earth. We are seeking a highly skilled and resilient Construction Plumber to lead the installation and assembly of mechanical systems during the transition into the Antarctic winter.
Scope of Work You will be responsible for high-precision mechanical plumbing installations essential for station operations. Key duties include:
- Pipe Installation: Professional installation of copper and cast-iron piping systems.
- System Integrity: Ensuring proper fittings, precise alignment, and secure, leak-proof connections for all mechanical systems.
- Compliance: Adhering strictly to project scope, safety protocols, and technical specifications under challenging conditions.
- Adaptability: Executing manual tasks on industrial equipment and infrastructure projects as required.
Candidate Requirements
- Qualifications: Trade-certified Plumber (e.g., NZ PGDB Registration or equivalent).
- Technical Expertise: Proven experience with heavy-duty mechanical plumbing, specifically with copper and cast-iron materials.
- Personal Attributes: Exceptional physical fitness and mental resilience; the ability to work effectively in a remote, isolated, and sub-zero environment.
- Documentation: Ability to clear all medical, psychological, and background checks required for Antarctic deployment.
