HM Auto Electrical is seeking sensor mechanic/leading hand to join our team.

Job Title: Mechanic / Leading Hand – Mechanical Department About the Role This is a prime opportunity for a senior technician to take the reins. You won't just be turning wrenches; you’ll be running the mechanical side of our reputable workshop. We need a dynamic go-getter who can think on their feet, work unsupervised, and take total accountability for the quality of the shop’s output. Come join our small, tight-knit team where your efforts are noticed and your expertise is truly valued. The Package Top Rates: Competitive hourly rate between $35.00 – $47.00 per hour. Hours: 40 hours per week with Overtime available at 1.5x rate. The Perks: Workshop cell phone provided and a regular tool allowance. What You’ll Be Doing Mechanical: Leading light vehicle repairs, routine servicing, and general mechanical maintenance. Warrant of Fitness: Conducting Warrant of Fitness (WoF) inspections to NZTA standards. Operations: Managing quotes, customer relations, and ensuring "top-notch" results on every job. What We’re Looking For Experience: Minimum 5 years as an Automotive Technician. NZQA Qualification Skills: Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail. Qualifications: Formal Automotive qualification and must be WoF Certified. Communication: Fluent in English with excellent skills to liaise with customers and colleagues. Mindset: An "above the line" attitude—honest, trustworthy, and relentlessly positive. Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team. Requirements: Clean full NZ driver’s license, reliable transport, own tools, and valid NZ work rights.
