We're on the lookout for an experienced Service Technician - Agricultural Machinery to join a well-established and respected machinery business in the Waikato. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working with modern equipment, and delivering top-tier service to customers across workshop and field environments.
**What You'll Be Doing: ** * Diagnosing, servicing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of agricultural and heavy machinery
- Carrying out high-quality fabrication and welding work (essential to the role)
- Completing preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs to minimise downtime
- Using electronic diagnostic tools, monitors, and software to test, calibrate, and fault-find machinery
- Providing onsite field service support when required
- Communicating clearly with customers about job progress, findings, and repair recommendations
- Recording labour, parts usage, and completed work accurately
- Ordering parts to ensure efficient and timely job completion
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe workshop and service vehicle
- Working closely with the Service Manager and wider team to manage workloads and timelines
**What You Need: ** * Proven experience as a Service Technician, Agricultural Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Mechanic, or similar
- Strong fabrication and welding skills (mandatory)
- Solid knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
- Confidence using electronic diagnostic tools and service software
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Clear communication skills with a customer-focused mindset
- Relevant trade qualification (preferred but not essential depending on experience)
- Full, current driver's licence
- Flexibility to work overtime and support field service work when required
