Kiwi Skips is looking for a fit, reliable Class 2 Truck Driver & Tyre Collector to join our team. This role has a strong focus on end-of-life tyre collections across Southland, while also supporting general Kiwi Skips operations as required.

You will be part of the Kiwi Skips team, working closely with Treadlite and Tyrewise, helping deliver New Zealand's national tyre stewardship programme and keeping tyres out of landfill.

About the Role

This is a hands-on, physical role suited to someone who enjoys being on the road, working independently, and dealing directly with customers. While tyre collections are the primary focus, there is variety in the role through wider Kiwi Skips operations.

We operate seven days, and expected hours of work would be Monday through Friday with rostered weekend work required (approximately one Saturday, one Sunday per month).

Key responsibilities include:

• Collecting end-of-life tyres from businesses across Southland
• Loading, securing, and transporting tyres safely
• Confidently use digital systems for job scheduling, route planning, onsite job verification, assisting customers with verification, and uploading weights, dockets, and job information
• Accurately recording tyre quantities and completing daily collection dockets in line with Treadlite and Tyrewise programme requirements
• Communicate clearly and professionally with customers and the Kiwi Skips team
• Maintain a clean and tidy truck and present professionally at all times
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks and report maintenance issues promptly
• Assist with general Kiwi Skips operations when required, including waste collections, yard duties, and waste sorting
• Follow all health and safety procedures, including correct manual handling and PPE use

What We're Looking For:

• Full Class 2 driver licence (required)
• Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
• Confident using technology and mobile systems
• Reliable, punctual, and takes pride in accurate, high-quality work
• Strong work ethic and willingness to go the extra mile
• Strong communication skills and a professional attitude
• Strong customer service focus
• Applicants must be able to pass a drug test if required and have no criminal convictions.
• NZ residency or a valid work permit.

Advantageous!:

• Previous waste or recycling experience
• Good knowledge of Invercargill/Southland
• Additional licence endorsements
