Description

Develop relationships with external transport carriers and all related parties. Achieve "Right product, right place, right time".

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage South Island shipments by route for all concrete replenishment orders to South Island Branches.
  • Analyse and optimise routes to minimise costs, fuel consumption and improve delivery times on both Hynds fleet vehicles and external carriers
  • Carrier arrival and departure times collected against shipment to ensure accurate loading times on site
  • Select appropriate external carriers by service levels, cost and adherence to our Health and Safety expectations.
  • Assist North Island Transport Manager with Hynds Fleet Driver performance appraisals.

Key Attributes

  • 2-5 years' experience in a despatch role. Experience with Hiab's, concrete and flat decks preferred.
  • Strong computer competency with experience in Outlook, Excel, and M3 or similar ERP system preferable. Other transport booking systems an advantage
  • A team player who is adaptable and can juggle multiple priorities in a logical manner
  • Has excellent customer service skills to ensure that strong internal and external customer relationships are maintained.
  • Accurate and timely reporting and investigation of incidents
