Transport & Dispatch Supervisor

The Transport & Dispatch Supervisor is a hands-on senior position responsible for managing transport and dispatch operations across Zealandia's Christchurch and Invercargill sites, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant delivery of live plants throughout the South Island.

When it comes to plants, we know a thing or two. Zealandia Horticulture grows and delivers millions of plants across NZ every year and we are on the search for an exceptional supervisor to take our transport and dispatch operations to the next level. This role is based at our facility in Belfast, Christchurch.

The role - what you will be doing:

  • Leading the Dispatch Team Leader and a team of nine truck drivers
  • Overseeing order picking, quality checking, dispatch processes
  • Route planning, and maximising driver and vehicle efficiency
  • Responsible for fleet management, ensuring trucks are maintained and road ready
  • Motivating and coaching team members to achieve company goals

Strong communication with internal stakeholders is essential to ensure customer deliveries meet agreed timeframes and quality standards. You'll also be a forward thinker to keep one step ahead, in the busy environment with many variables. Our customers' needs must be at the heart of all decisions and actions.

To be successful in this role you'll:

  • Have at least 2 years' experience leading people in a manufacturing or logistics environment
  • Have a strong understanding of route planning and load mapping
  • Fleet management knowledge is an advantage
  • Numeracy excellence
  • Full clean NZ drivers' licence
  • Current forklift licence
  • Microsoft Office - confidence using Excel, Outlook, Teams etc.
  • Exceptional communication skills

This is a full-time, Monday to Friday role, with a 6-day roster (Sunday to Friday) on alternating weeks during our peak season September to December.
