H28 Herreshoff
Description
Brought as a bit of a project. With a friend. Partnership is now over. Can’t afford to carry on, on my own. When first brought two years ago we took into yard to do some work on it. In trying to , we started to have trouble with the motor. Even though we did work on the motor it is NOT going. We think possible a cracked head. (I wasn’t on the boat when it happened so not sure, it’s seized now) Wail in the yard we fixed a few small osmosis spots. And re-anti fluid. The boat was painted by previous owner .But with in months it was peeling off and now looks as if he has not used the right paint or prepared the deck properly before painting. On the motor we rebuilt the heat exchanger New starter motor, new belt. Fixed the replacement motor the previous owner put on the anchor winch working.
There is new curtains New squabs & new fabric. New cotpet squab and fabric. New paint inside New carpet Some new LED lights in the main salon. New plates and cutlery New aluminium gas bottles , full, and mounted with bracket to outside rail. New cooker. (Just needs to be hocked up) Small fridge 5 life jackets electric self-steering unit. There’s a spinnaker and pole. In good condition. Possibly a racing sail. Good condition. The other sails are in good condition. Main needs a bit of a wash. Some of the ropes have been replaced and are in great condition, there is one or two that still need replacing. A great sunshade for the cotpet. The front hatch had new seals put on. No leaks Fold away table for the main salon. I added two wooden seaport strips down the sides of the bunks, in the main salon, so the table, plus a piece I had made can be add to create a large king size bed. Both the fuel and water tanks were changed to bigger tanks . I think about 50L There are two solar panels that were put on by the previous owner.
Boat is on a mooring in Winder Landing on long team lease. Owner is willing to continue. But is open to offers if you want to buy the mooring.
Questions & Answers
Hi. Is the engine in pieces? s*******6 (2 • 3:50 pm, Fri, 25 Apr )No it’s as u see in the picture , all together. It hasn’t been pulled apart to determine what exactly is wrong. Just the assumption that it’s a cracked head. But several people have all said the same things. melpat1 (7 • Friday, 25 April 2025 )How much is mooring fee? d**********s (575 • 10:15 pm, Fri, 25 Apr )$200 a month melpat1 (7 • Friday, 25 April 2025 )Photos are fantastic. I’m not sour how heigh the hole boat is. But the mast is 42 feet high. I hope that helps melpat1 (7 • Saturday, 26 April 2025 )Would you be able to get the measurements as I need them for freight z*****1 (0 • 10:01 am, Sat, 26 Apr )May be a little tricky since it’s in the water. But if you go by the draft is 1.22m The headroom is 1.83m and they probably finished and start about the same place. So would give you 3.05m ruffle. So all up would be 15.85m from top mast to bottom boat , ruffle. But when I go out to it next I’ll take a tap messer and let you know. When the weather is better melpat1 (7 • Saturday, 26 April 2025 )is there rot in hull or deck do you have all the paper work for this boat? r*****2 (9 • 4:02 pm, Mon, 28 Apr )As said in add. I had some small spots of osmosis removed. I fixed the piece of toe rail that was rotten. I haven’t come across any in the deck as yet. There wasn’t a lot of paper work with it when I got it. I do have a sales document from the guy that sold it to me. I do have a few manual for a few things that are on board. I have all the receipts for all the work we had done. melpat1 (7 • Monday, 28 April 2025 )
