The Gospel Hall was a building erected for the use of the community, by the Bretheran, records The Herald correspondent, in the Wairoa News column. Opened on ANZAC day in 1933, to a crowd of over 500 people, the Herald correspondent notes that the building is well braced and tied with steel sufficient to withstand earthquake shocks.
