Description
This is your opportunity to purchase a beautiful 2010 BMW M3 LCI (facelift) in the best colour combination of Jerez Black with Red Fox leather interior. Because its an LCI it has slightly restyled exterior, a higher resolution CIC display and improved iDrive. It comes with the optional 19 inch wheels and the latest New Zealand navigation maps.
I'm the first New Zealand owner and bought it in 2015, after it had done 50,000 very sedate kilometres in the UK. I have driven it hard and serviced it religiously. The only problem I've had was a faulty idle air valve which was replaced a month or so ago. Full disclosure, I've driven it in several Targa Tours (not the race, see image). It has never been crashed.
If you've never driven an E92 M3, you really should. The 4 litre V8 puts out 309 Kilowatts (414 BHP) at 8,300 RPM. Yes, you read that right, 8,300 RPM. The sound the engine makes at that speed is absolutely intoxicating so you'll need to be a bit careful if you value your licence.
The 7 speed DCT gearbox is a wonderful thing. I've always driven manuals but I don't think I'll ever go back. In auto mode its pretty good, not as smooth as a proper automatic but it's always in the right gear and changes quickly when you need it. In manual mode it is a revelation, changes are near instantaneous so you can just keep accelerating and with the autoblip on downshift you'll be able to impress your friends with your skills.
Handling is great. The front wheels grip like you won't believe and turn in as hard and as fast as you can turn the wheel. The rear just follows and in M-Dynamic mode, the computer lets you have enough power oversteer so you look like a pro coming out of the corner.
Inside it's all luxury. The power adjustable seats are comfortable and supportive, the dual zone climate air will keep you as warm or cool as you like and the factory stereo system is excellent.
This is a great car and it's also a bargain as you'll wait a long time before you see one at this price on Trademe
