1HZ Turbo
$1,620
Description
My 1992 HZJ-73 just got an upgrade to a 1HD-FT, and now the old original 1HZ-Turbo needs a new home.
Converted in 2015 from naturally aspirated to turbocharged using a GTurbo Grunter Extreme Kit (gturbo.com.au), and High Performance Diesel (hpdiesel.com.au) top mount intercooler, the work was done by John Cundall Engineering in Invercargill. In order not to blow it up, it has been monitored using an Innovate MTX-L Wideband AFR meter, and Autometer SportComp II Pyrometer and Boost meter. They are NOT included in the sale of the motor, but I would STRONGLY recommend a similar monitoring in any new installation. The AC compressor is also not included
The turbo on the 1HZ is now the Garret CT-26 which is the factory original from the 1HD-FT. Although a slight step back from the GTurbo unit, it's still a significant upgrade for a motor that pre-turbo struggled to do 100k/hr into the wind.
The cam belt on the 1HZ-T was done at 286,518km which is painted on the belt cover (see pics). The motor was pulled at 324,448km which adds up to 37,970km on the belt.
The motor has had regular maintenance and doesn't use oil. As it is sitting on a pallet, it has to be sold "as is". There are four short videos about it when it was running in 3/2021 just before it was pulled. It's amateur stuff, but you can find them on YouTube here: https://www.youtube.com/user/KiwiHoosier/featured
