Nissan Fairlady 280ZX 2 seater 1980

1980 Datsun 280ZX aka Nissan Fairlady Z

Imported from Japan in 1987, top spec JDM model with oil pressure and oil temp gauges, crank trigger wheel ignition, black interior, L28 engine.

Two seater (very rare in NZ) and widely described as better looking than the 2+2 models. All other models on Trademe at the moment are 2+2 and one picture shows the difference in how they look.

Full bare metal resto. All rust plated and have photos of rebuild.

Very rare full black interior. Seats recovered, dash recovered and crack free. New carpets.

1/2 cage (bolt in no cert required as no rear seats anyway)

16" ROH 3 piece wheels

Extractors and full 2 + 1/2 inch exhaust system. KYB shocks, King springs.

Standard L28E fuel injected l28 (2.8 litre) engine. Has the N42 head and N42 block both are considered best for stroker builds. Also has factory electronic ignition with crank driven trigger wheel.

Aircon removed.

High kms because it used to be owned by someone that lived in Masterton worked in Wellington and drove it every day.

No bubbles or visible rust despite being painted in 2014. Garaged ever since. This car is straight, paint job still looks new. Painted Metallic pearl black mica (Subaru Legacy colour) which is black with a very slight purple visible in bright sun.

Suit any S30 240Z 260Z 280Z S130 Z 300ZX 370Z 1600 180B 120Y 1200 Nissan Datsun fan. Something different from a R30 R31 Skyline S13 S14 Silvia. A RB20DET or RB25DET engine will fit in so long as you have the right sump.

No warranty expressed or implied, this is a fuel injected car from 1980.

Has a few quirks, requires warming up before driving (suspect cold start system issue as won't idle straight away) Bit smokey on start up. Dash backlights intermittently work and suspect the combination switch is at fault (common issue)
