About the job:
This role supports the delivery of high-quality management accounting services across Council including period reporting, financial forecasting and the operation and maintenance of Council costing systems.
As Assistant Management Accountant you will participate in monthly reporting, contribute to FTE reporting, assist with the preparation of Council budgets along with Annual Plan and Long Term Plan and provide accurate, timely financial insights to support decision making, and ongoing process improvements.
Working closely with the finance team, you'll also undertake a range of tasks that support the effective operation of the Finance section.
About you:
We're looking for a motivated finance professional with at least two years' experience in a large organisation and a solid understanding of accounting principles. Preferably you have an Accounting Technician qualification (Level 5) or be studying towards a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
Your strong digital capability and excellent written and verbal communication skills will be paramount to presenting information clearly to management. You'll be analytical, well organised and bring strong problem-solving skills along with excellent attention to detail, a focus on continual improvement, and a collaborative approach to your work.
