Description
Our client is seeking an experienced Management & Cost Accountant with strong technical expertise in product costing within a manufacturing or product-based environment.
With the business in a period of growth, this is a key role within the finance function. We are looking for someone who can confidently operate at pace, take ownership of costing structures, and deliver accurate, commercially meaningful reporting from day one.
You will sit at the intersection of finance and operations, ensuring cost integrity, supporting margin performance, and delivering insight that informs real business decisions. The CFO values accuracy, commercial thinking, and proactive initiative, and this role plays an important part in maintaining the strength and credibility of the numbers while supporting the continued growth of the business.
Key focus areas:
- Own and maintain accurate product costing models and standards.
- Ensure integrity of inventory valuation, WIP, and margin performance.
- Analyse cost and pricing variances, identifying drivers and commercial impact.
- Deliver clear monthly management reporting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Partner with operations, procurement, and sales to translate financial data into practical insight.
- Support budgeting processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to month-end processes, reconciliations, and audit preparation.
About you:
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance (CA/CPA advantageous).
- Proven experience in cost and management accounting within a manufacturing or product-based environment.
- Strong understanding of product costing methodologies, inventory, and margin analysis.
- Demonstrated business partnering capability, confident working alongside operational leaders.
- Advanced Excel and ERP systems experience (Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, LN or similar).
- Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and the confidence to challenge where needed.
- Professional, commercially astute, and comfortable working independently.
Our ideal candidate will enjoy being part of a collaborative, down-to-earth team where people genuinely support one another. You will thrive in a fast-paced but positive environment, take pride in delivering accurate and meaningful financial insight, and feel comfortable rolling up your sleeves while still keeping the bigger picture in mind.
