What You Will Do

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, reports, and analyses to support management decisions
  • Monitor cash flow, budgets, and financial performance against targets
  • Manage month-end and year-end processes, including reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries
  • End-to-end management of payroll for 80–100 employees, ensuring timely and accurate processing
  • Process accounts payable and receivable, providing guidance and supervision to the Accounts Payable Officer
  • Prepare and lodge GST, income tax, and other statutory returns
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, statutory requirements, and internal policies
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and systems
  • Provide professional financial advice and support to management

What You'll Need

  • Professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA)
  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
  • Minimum 4–6 years’ experience in a hands-on accounting role, preferably within small to medium-sized businesses
  • Proven experience managing payroll in a New Zealand context
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Xero, MYOB, or Employment Hero) and strong Excel skills
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational and time management abilities
  • Ability to work independently while providing strategic and operational financial support
