What You Will Do
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, reports, and analyses to support management decisions
- Monitor cash flow, budgets, and financial performance against targets
- Manage month-end and year-end processes, including reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries
- End-to-end management of payroll for 80–100 employees, ensuring timely and accurate processing
- Process accounts payable and receivable, providing guidance and supervision to the Accounts Payable Officer
- Prepare and lodge GST, income tax, and other statutory returns
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, statutory requirements, and internal policies
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and systems
- Provide professional financial advice and support to management
What You'll Need
- Professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA)
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
- Minimum 4–6 years’ experience in a hands-on accounting role, preferably within small to medium-sized businesses
- Proven experience managing payroll in a New Zealand context
- Proficiency in accounting software (Xero, MYOB, or Employment Hero) and strong Excel skills
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational and time management abilities
- Ability to work independently while providing strategic and operational financial support
