Construction and Technical Recruitment (CTR) are working with a respected consultancy delivering landmark projects across New Zealand. This is a rare opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor or Cost Consultant to step into a role within a highly regarded and professional team in Auckland.

The Role This role offers full involvement from early cost planning and feasibility through to procurement, cost control, and final project delivery. You'll play a key role in managing costs, ensuring value for money, and building strong relationships with clients and project teams.

You'll have autonomy across a diverse portfolio of projects, backed by strong systems, resources, and the support of a collaborative leadership group.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage feasibility studies and cost plans
• Provide accurate estimating, cost checking, and value engineering advice
• Manage tender evaluations, contract negotiations, and procurement strategies
• Oversee cost control, financial reporting, and cashflow forecasting
• Evaluate variations, prepare and negotiate claims, and finalise accounts
• Build and maintain strong client relationships
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to business growth

About You

• 5+ years' experience in Quantity Surveying or Cost Consulting
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
• Proficient in CostX or similar cost planning software
• Strong financial and commercial acumen
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Experience across commercial, infrastructure, or mixed-use developments
• NZIQS or RICS membership (or working towards)
