Quantity Surveyor

Location: East Tamaki, Auckland Hours: 32–40 hours per week Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time We are a well-established concrete foundation contracting business looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with project teams, managing costs from tender through to completion, and being involved in both office and site-based work. About the Role As our Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in managing project costs, preparing tenders, and supporting successful project delivery. You’ll work closely with project managers, clients, architects, engineers, and suppliers to ensure projects are delivered accurately, efficiently, and profitably.

Key Responsibilities

• Review architects’ and engineers’ drawings and tender documentation
• Prepare detailed quotes and schedules of quantities
• Measure and estimate material and labour costs
• Set up and manage project budgets
• Monitor construction costs and prepare cost reports for management
• Visit sites to monitor progress and assess variations
• Process progress claims and variations
• Manage procurement including work orders and purchase orders
• Process supplier and subcontractor invoices and claims
• Liaise with project managers, clients, architects, and other stakeholders

Skills & Experience

• Degree or master’s degree in quantity surveying
• Strong knowledge of building methods and materials
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
• Must have minimum 3 years experience using CostX (estimation software)
• Must have minimum 3 years experience using CostCon (cost management software)
• Experience in foundations and structural concrete highly regarded
• Competent with MS Office Suite (including MS Project)
• Basic accounting knowledge and strong cost management skills
