JUNIOR QUANTITY SURVEYOR

B & H Builders (2008) Limitedis seeking a motivatedJunior Quantity Surveyorto join our Auckland-based team on apermanent, full-time basis.

About the Role

This is a hands-on, office-based role with exposure across the full project lifecycle — fromtendering and pricing through to project delivery and final accounts.

This position is ideal for someone early in their career looking to develop practical experience in the subcontracting building industry, particularly in:

·       Concreting

·       Formwork

·       Carpentry

·       Reinforcing

A practical assessment may be conducted during the interview process. Key Responsibilities

·       Analyse drawings and specifications, and conduct site visits to determine scope of work

·       Prepare accurate take-offs, cost estimates, and pricing (labour, materials, and equipment)

·       Compile and submit quotations within required deadlines

·       Manage multiple projects concurrently

·       Procure and coordinate materials as required

·       Liaise with clients and site teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget

·       Administer contracts and manage cost control from project award to completion

·       Prepare and submit progress claims following site inspections

·       Track variations and maintain accurate cost records

·       Prepare monthly project reports, highlighting progress, risks, and issues

·       Maintain organised project documentation and update shared systems/databases

·       Build and maintain strong client relationships About You

·       Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Industry related

·       1–2 years’ experience in the New Zealand construction industry

·       Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness

·       Ability to interpret construction drawings accurately

·       Well-developed problem-solving skills and initiative

·       Strong communication and interpersonal skills

·       Understanding of construction contracts and commercial processes

·       Ability to analyse financial data and support decision-making

·       Proficient in MS Office; experience withCostXis preferred
