Our client is seeking a highly capable Reliability Improvement Lead to uplift preventative maintenance programmes, strengthen reliability practices, and improve asset performance across a busy manufacturing site.
This is a future focused role centred on driving preventative quality maintenance, reducing repeat failures, and embedding long term reliability improvements. Please note, this is not a hands on maintenance or breakdown response role. This is about optimising asset performance and improving systems.

What you’ll be doing:
Preventative Maintenance (PM) Programme uplift
- Reviewing existing PM strategies for critical assets
- Identifying gaps, over or under maintenance, and improvement opportunities
- Enhancing PM task quality, frequency, and alignment to asset criticality
- Ensuring PMs are risk-based, technically sound, and value adding
- Coordinating plant shutdowns for PM execution
Asset Reliability & Failure Reduction
- Analysing repeat failures and identifying contributing factors
- Supporting basic RCAs and failure mode reviews
- Recommending reliability improvements to reduce unplanned downtime
- Focusing on stabilising asset performance rather than full redesign
Supplier & Resource Capability
- Identifying specialist external maintenance providers
- Assessing supplier capability and suitability
- Supporting scope development for PM related contracts
- Contributing to an effective supplier support model
Maintenance Planning & Discipline
- Supporting improvements in planning and scheduling processes
- Enhancing visibility of PM workload and resource requirements
- Monitoring corrective vs preventative maintenance demand
- Contributing to maintenance window and shutdown planning
What you’ll bring:
- Ideally a trade or tertiary qualification in Engineering, Maintenance or Asset Management (or equivalent experience)
- Proven experience in reliability, maintenance improvement, or PM strategy in an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of preventative and condition based maintenance principles
- Demonstrated experience reviewing and improving PM programmes
- Experience with CMMS systems and maintenance planning processes
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a practical focus
- Experience working with external maintenance or specialist providers
- Knowledge of reliability or improvement methodologies (e.g., RCM, FMEA)
- Structured, disciplined approach and ability to work independently
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing capability
- Comfortable in a hands on operational site environment
