Homes of Choice ("HOC") is a registered Community Housing provider, working strategically to support high-quality living options and housing solutions for all people with disabilities.
Reporting into the General Manager of Homes of Choice (HOC) you will assist in meeting key objectives and standards by providing properties maintenance coordination services, administrative support, performance monitoring and reports for HOC.
The scope of the role includes but is not limited to; providing administrative and clerical support to Senior Property Manager and GM, processing property maintenance service requests from Spectrum Care Managers and HOC tenants, follow up on authorised work, monitor and report on contractor’s performance.
The successful candidate will have the ability to:
- Self-manage with excellent time management skills to plan ahead, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Communicate effectively both written and verbal, to present information clearly and unambiguously, listening carefully to requests and queries.
- Relate well to colleagues and superiors, to create rapport and demonstrate honesty and reliability.
- Respond proactively to internal and external customers, handle difficult situations with tact and deference.
- Demonstrate sound knowledge and experience using Microsoft office tools, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or other job-specific software
- Have exceptional attention to detail to ensure accurate and timely reporting
- Demonstrate honesty, reliability and especially with confidential information
Minimum appointment criteria
- Appropriate clearance from New Zealand Police and Oranga Tamariki.
Qualification/educational level
- Sixth form certificate or NCEA Level 2 achievement with good grades in appropriate subjects, e.g., English, maths
- Qualification in property management or a related discipline preferred but not essential.
Work experience
- An interest in property and reactive property maintenance management especially in the field of social and disability housing.
- Understanding of building industry requirements and standards and the skills and ability to identify and research appropriate standards and requirements.
- Systems ability to develop and implement appropriate property maintenance systems and processes
At least two years of practical work experience in a property environment would be looked upon favorably.
