We are seeking an experienced and people-focused Roster Support Team Leader to join our HR Shared Services (HRSS) Leadership Team. This is a pivotal role responsible for leading a team of Roster Officers and ensuring the delivery of high-quality time and attendance support services'so our kaimahi are paid accurately and on time.
About the Role
As the Team Leader - Roster Support, you will provide day-to-day leadership, operational oversight, and continuous improvement of roster support services. You'll play a key role in enabling a high-performing, customer-focused team while driving process improvements and ensuring compliance across all time and attendance activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Roster Officers, fostering a positive and high-performing team culture
- Manage day-to-day operations, including recruitment, onboarding, rostering, and leave management
- Support operational planning, workload prioritisation, and resource allocation
- Ensure delivery against KPIs and service levels through clear goal setting and performance monitoring
- Provide escalation support and resolve complex time and attendance issues
- Promote a kaimahi-focused service culture with consistent, high-quality advice and processes
- Drive continuous improvement of systems, processes, and ways of working
- Ensure legislative compliance across all roster and time attendance functions
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organisation
- Collaborate with Training and Support teams to ensure effective training materials and communication pathways
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of system and data updates
About You
You are an experienced team leader with a passion for customer service, operational excellence, and developing people.
Essential:
- Proven experience (minimum 2 years) leading and developing teams
- Experience working in a large, complex, service-driven environment (government sector desirable)
- Working knowledge of rostering and/or time attendance systems
- Strong customer service and administrative background
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Desirable:
- Experience within HR and/or the health sector
- Understanding of HR processes and systems
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Business, HR, or a related field
