About the Role
Whanganui People’s Centre is seeking a friendly, organised, and professional Receptionist/Administrator to join our team.
You will be the first point of contact for clients and visitors, playing a vital role in ensuring our Centre operates efficiently while delivering a welcoming and professional experience to the community.

The Role
Managing the front desk and welcoming clients and visitors
Answering and directing phone calls and responding to email enquiries
Scheduling appointments and coordinating calendars
Maintaining filing systems and updating databases
Liaising with clients and external agencies
Keeping client and appointment information accurate and up to date in our system
Supporting the wider team with day-to-day administrative tasks
Helping keep the office running efficiently and professionally
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for an experienced Receptionist/Administrator who can confidently manage front-line responsibilities.
The successful candidate will:
Be able to work autonomously and manage daily priorities without supervision
Have excellent people skills and strong written and verbal English communication skills
Be highly organised with strong attention to detail
Be IT literate and confident using Microsoft Office
Maintain a professional presentation and manner
Be capable of managing multiple tasks including phone calls, emails, and walk-in enquiries
Have experience preparing documents, maintaining filing systems, and updating databases
Be reliable, punctual, and demonstrate a strong work ethic
Be willing to undergo reference checks
Hold the legal right to work in New Zealand
