Tranzit is an award-winning transport and tourism provider operating throughout New Zealand, and we are seeking an experienced Operations Assistant to support our busy Tranzit Coachlines Central team based in Taupo.
You will work closely with our Operations Supervisor and wider team, providing day-to-day operational support to ensure safe, reliable, and quality transport for our clients. This is a fast-paced and dynamic industry, and the role is ideal for someone who thrives on change, enjoys methodical decision-making, and likes seeing the results of their work in action.

Hours will vary between term time and school holidays, and some flexibility is expected. Due to business requirements and service schedules, you will occasionally be required to be on-call. This role includes driving a school run during the school term. At Tranzit, we lead from the front, so the role also involves pitching in with other duties from time to time, including cleaning and supporting our central business teams as needed.
What you'll do
- Assist our operations team in coordinating the urban network and supporting the urban driving team under the guidance of the Operations Supervisor
- Support KPI performance management, focusing on improving reliability and service quality and, in turn, minimising abatements
- Provide operational and administrative support to the Operations Supervisor and wider team
- Order and process staff uniforms, stationery, and other depot supplies
- Support administrative reporting, including coordinating bus audits and fault reports
- Assist with processing customer quotes and pricing requests, providing timely and accurate responses to client enquiries
- Foster a proactive Health and Safety culture by assisting with committee meetings and helping the team comply with requirements
Who we're looking for

- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with a willingness to take initiative and develop leadership potential
- Positive, pragmatic, and well-balanced approach to problem-solving and decision-making
- Flexible and adaptable in your role
- Advanced technical skills and willingness to learn new technology
- Current Class 2 or 4 driver's licence and Passenger Endorsement or the willingness and ability to obtain these
- Transport industry experience is essential
