We are preparing for future growth and to help us on the journey we're looking for a capable, people-focused Business Unit Support Manager to join our team and take the lead for all our on-site operations.
What You'll Be Doing :
- Be an engaged member of the Busy Lizzy leadership team - contribute to planning, problem-solving, and strategy execution and collaborate freely with the wider management team.
- Empowering our teams to deliver great results for all on-site jobs across maintenance services and projects.
- Manage core HR administration across the employee lifecycle, including drafting employment contracts, preparing job advertisements, screening candidates, coordinating interviews, supporting onboarding of new staff, administering leave and stand-down periods, and coordinating the annual performance review process.
- Coordinate materials procurement, including ordering plants and project materials from suppliers and receiving and organising them until required.
- Oversee yard management, ensuring the yard is organised, safe, and efficient, with appropriate stock levels, waste disposal processes, and systems that support safe vehicle movement and easy access to materials and equipment.
- Be the Product Owner for SIMPRO and all other key systems. Responsible for ensuring that the systems deliver appropriate functionality, templates, workflows and reporting to support the business.
- Manage company assets, including maintaining the asset register for vehicles, tools, and equipment, scheduling servicing and compliance checks, arranging repairs or replacements, and promoting responsible use and care through clear policies and staff guidance.
- Work with the external bookkeeper and credit manager to oversee financial administration, respond to queries, and ensure accounts, invoicing, and financial processes run smoothly.
- Oversee Health & Safety administration, including maintaining the H&S management system, ensuring inductions, training records and certifications remain compliant, supporting toolbox talks and incident reporting, and preparing regular H&S reports.
- Produce regular business performance reporting, analysing operational, financial, H&S and HR KPIs to identify trends, provide insights, and support informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
What You'll Bring:
- At least 3 years in office or operations management roles with a strong administrative and HR focus.
- Comfortable leading HR administration including contracts, onboarding, and performance management processes with support from Director for key decision making
- A genuine team player who works collaboratively with other managers and can support strategy, continuous improvement and culture across the wider team.
- Pragmatic, calm under pressure, and highly organised.
- Confident and professional communicator - able to manage both client-facing interactions and internal communications.
- Ability to gather, analyse and present operational and financial data for reporting and decision-making.
- Strong SIMPRO skills, with the ability to use the system effectively to support scheduling, workflows, and reporting in an SME environment.
- Understanding of NZ health and safety legislation.
