The Salvation Army Whangarei Bridge Centre exists to provide safe, integrated, high quality treatment and support services to people whose lives have been affected by alcohol or substance use. Our services are evidenced based best practise and are known for being people-centred, caring, transformative and responsive**.**
A full-time split role based in Whangārei working with Tangata Whai Ora in a community setting. This is a specialist position working within the Te Ara Oranga service. Te Ara Oranga is a Methamphetamine focussed service aimed at reducing Methamphetamine demand. The role also includes working within the general Bridge service minimising harm from alcohol and other drugs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provision of casework that provides integrated care for those experiencing co-existing problems of addiction and mental health.
- Group facilitation
- Working within the framework of The Salvation Army Bridge Programme Model of Treatment.
- Implementation of the Salvation Army Bridge Programme Policies and Procedures
Person Specification:
- Applied Degree or other Level 7 qualification in Health Science, Addiction Studies, Counselling or Social Work
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Good cross-cultural understanding.
- Commitment to continuing professional development relevant to addiction studies.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment, sharing information, ideas and effective practices while maintaining client and service privacy, and confidentiality

Hours of work: This is a permanent full time role of 40 hours per week.
The starting salary for this role will fall between $68.000 and $102,000 per annum. This role is covered by the pay equity agreement and the final remuneration will be dependent on the years experience of the preferred candidate brings to the role.
