About the Business:

The Salvation Army Driver Programmes Service has operated in Gryemouth since 2020, first starting in Christchurch in 2014. It delivers community Driver Programmes to people and removes the barriers of access, equity, and safety to gaining a practical license. The Driver Programmes focus on supporting people who are facing challenges in attaining their restricted and full licenses while working with a diversity of people in our community.

About the Role:

The Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day coordination and operational oversight of all Driver Programme and Community Driver Testing Officer (CDTO) services delivered locally on the West Coast. The role ensures client flow, mentor and instructor coordination, programme integrity, KPI achievement, and compliance with contractual and NZTA requirements.

What will your responsibilities be:

  • Recruit, screen, and filter participants for the programme while managing referrals to meet KPIs.
  • Oversee and conduct interviews, and maintain accurate spreadsheets and reports for seamless programme operation.
  • Lead the recruitment, retention, and recognition of driver mentor volunteers.
  • Provide administrative support and ensure effective communication with facilitators, instructors, and referral agencies.
  • Promote accessibility, equity, and safe driver training to address barriers for disadvantaged New Zealanders.

  • Strong Communication Skills: Able to effectively engage with participants, mentors, facilitators, referral agencies, and the wider team to ensure seamless collaboration and information flow.
  • Team: Skilled in recruiting, retaining, and recognising volunteers while fostering a cohesive and professional team environment.
  • Customer-Centric Approach: Committed to ensuring the programme is accessible, equitable, and supportive, particularly for disadvantaged individuals.
  • Goal-Driven: Focused on meeting KPIs by monitoring referrals and overseeing processes to achieve program deliverables efficiently.

This role is part time and hours worked will be 20 per week.

The starting salary for this role will fall between $30,000 and $33,000

The starting hourly rate for this role will fall between $29 and $32
