It's an exciting time for us as we get ready to open our brand-new Mitre 10 MEGA Papamoa store.
Locally owned and operated, we're passionate retailers who take pride in supporting our team to deliver excellent service and solutions for our customers. As we prepare for this exciting new chapter, we are now recruiting a Trade Drive Thru Team Leader to join our Trade team and help us deliver a great trade experience in our new store. This is a full time role, working 40 hours across 5 days, including one weekend day.
This is your chance to join from the start, help lead day-to-day activity in our Drive Thru, and create a safe, efficient, and reliable experience for trade and DIY customers in a brand-new MEGA store environment.
About the Role
In this role, you'll support the day-to-day leadership of the Drive Thru by helping coordinate workflow, guiding the team during their shift, and making sure customers receive friendly service and safe, efficient load-out. It's a hands-on role where you'll work alongside the team while also taking responsibility for priorities, yard presentation, safety practices, and smooth coordination with Trade and Inwards Goods.
What You'll Be Doing
- Support the day-to-day leadership of the Drive Thru team, helping set priorities and keep work flowing smoothly across the yard
- Pick, stage, and load customer orders accurately, confirming products against paperwork and ensuring a great customer experience
- Promote safe handling, load-securement, and traffic management practices, and help make sure yard safety controls are followed
- Coordinate with Trade and Inwards Goods on priority orders, deliveries, and daily workflow requirements
- Help coach and guide team members on product basics, customer service, and safe work practices
- Maintain yard presentation, location accuracy, clear bays, and correct ticketing, including support for promotional set-ups
- Step in to resolve routine customer or operational issues and escalate more complex matters when needed
What You'll Bring
- Proven customer service skills and the ability to communicate clearly and helpfully with customers and team members
- Experience supporting or leading others in a fast-paced, physical environment
- A strong safety mindset, good situational awareness, and confidence working in an active yard environment
- Strong organisation and prioritisation skills, with the ability to stay calm under pressure
- Care with products, attention to detail, and a reliable, hands-on approach
- Confidence using systems and tools such as RF scanning and basic inventory look-ups, or the ability to learn quickly
- Forklift experience or willingness to complete training, along with a good understanding of PPE, manual handling, and load-securement practices
