This is a full-time position from Tuesday to Saturday.

Smith's Mitre 10 Mega Brougham st  is a family-owned Christchurch business which strives to offer exceptional customer service to every customer every time.

This is your opportunity to join our Brougham st  store and be part of the team that strive to make Brougham st  Mega a number one destination for all trade and DIY alike.

Reporting to the Retail Manager, you will be responsible for maximizing sales and profit within this department through delivering excellent team leadership, stock control and customer service. We are looking for a driven and energetic Team Leader, with a proven track record, to take charge of a key department in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. In this role you will be able to utilise and develop your leadership skills, while working within an enthusiastic and passionate team.

This will see you taking accountability for:

  • Ensuring customers are the number one priority, receiving the high standard of service they deserve;
  • Developing and leading your team
  • Promoting a team culture that encourages a positive working environment.
  • Taking on responsibility for on-the-floor stock, point-of-sale and general standards within your department.
  • Contributing to the overall success of the store, actively supporting initiatives and process; and
  • Other duties as required.

The ideal person for this position would need the following attributes:

  • Retail supervisory experience;
  • Ability to work as part of a team, and provide direction and leadership;
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to think ahead and offer innovative solutions;
  • A passion for customer service excellence
  • General computer skills
  • Ability to manage a varied and busy work load
  • Reasonable degree of physical fitness and ability
  • Good time management
  • A positive professional attitude
  • Exercise honesty and fairness in all areas
  • Have an understanding of the importance of "One Team"
  • The ability to strive for excellence

   working approx. 42.5 hours per week.
