We are looking for a passionate Baker who enjoys working in a small and friendly team environment, here at New World Marton.
We are looking for a Qualified Baker who prides themselves on having high standards and is self-motivated. The successful applicant will need to work well in a small and driven team and be versatile in all aspects of bakery production. We pride ourselves on producing quality products for our customers and are looking for a team member that compliments these skills. Reporting to the Bakery Manager you will help ensure the smooth day to day operation of the Bakery Department.
Desired Qualifications, Experience & Tasks:
- A Qualified Baker with NZQA Level 3,4 or 5 baking qualifications or similar.
- Have good understanding of Food Safety and Health & Safety policies.
- At least 2 years' work experience if no qualifications.
- A friendly customer focused team member with a can do attitude.
- An ability to work well under pressure in a busy environment.
- Baking required daily levels of bread, rolls and other bread products.
- Baking, icing and decorating cakes for customer orders as well as display.
- Producing other bakery specific products as required (e.g. scones, muffins, cookies, scrolls etc)
*Maintain daily production schedules while minimizing wastage.
*Receive inwards goods and follow all Food Safety requirements.
- Strong communication (verbal & written) and be able to effectively resolve all customer related enquiries.
- Healthy and physically fit to work in a fast-paced bakery team.
- A reliable team player able to work early starts with flexibility to work non rostered days as required.
