We are looking for an experienced and motivated Butchery 2IC to support the day-to-day operation of our busy butchery department.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled butcher when ready to take the next step in your career and work alongside a dedicated team committed to quality, service and excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Butchery Manager in the daily running of the department.
- Prepare, cut, trim and present meat products to a high standard
- Ensure attractive merchandising and product displays.
- Maintain food safety and hygiene standards at all times
- Support stock control, ordering and inventory management.
- Provide exceptional customer service and product knowledge.
- Assist with team supervision, training and development
- Help achieve sales, profitability and waste control targets.
Who are we looking for? To be successful in this role you are someone who:
- Previous butchery experience is essential.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced retail or trade environment.
- Strong knowledge of meat preparation and food safety practices.
- Leadership experience or the ability to step into a supervisory role.
- Reliable, hardworking, a positive attitude, commitment to quality and team oriented
- Computer literate (including Microsoft Office and inventory systems)
- SAP Inventory knowledge is an advantage however training will be provided.
- Has a full, clean driver's license (as there is no public transport to the store for you to arrive at 5.30am)
- All applicants must have NZ residency or a valid work permit.
