This is a hands-on, on-site management role requiring strong operational leadership, staff supervision, and customer service expertise.
The Store Manager will oversee daily store operations, supervise and support staff, maintain product and service standards, and ensure compliance with Health & Safety and Food Safety requirements to support the ongoing success of the business.
Position Details - The store operates 7 days a week from 8:30am to 7:00pm. - The Store Manager is required to work on-site 6 days out of 7. - Working hours may range between 8:00am to 7:30pm to meet operational requirements. - Daily start and finish times may vary and may include weekends and public holidays. - This is a full-time role, with usual hours of 45 hours per week. - Pay Rate: $29-$34 per hour (depending on skills and experience).
Key Responsibilities As a Store Manager, your duties will include, but are not limited to: - Managing inventory, including stock ordering, receiving, stock control, stocktaking, pricing accuracy, and minimising wastage. - Overseeing purchasing activities and maintaining accurate stock, pricing, and sales records. - Managing daily financial processes, including cash handling, reconciliation, and basic financial reporting. - Monitoring costs and supporting the achievement of monthly sales and performance targets. - Training, supervising, rostering, and supporting staff to ensure smooth daily operations. - Conducting regular quality checks to ensure seafood freshness, quality, quantity, and presentation standards are consistently maintained. - Planning and implementing in-store promotions, visual merchandising, and supporting marketing initiatives. - Delivering a high standard of customer service and professionally handling customer enquiries, complaints, and billing requests. - Ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety legislation and Food Safety requirements. - Responding effectively to emergencies or unexpected operational situations to maintain business continuity.
Role Requirements Applicants must meet one of the following criteria: - At least three years of management experience as a Store Manager or business owner, OR - a Diploma in Business, Hospitality, or a relevant field. In addition, applicants must demonstrate: - Proven leadership and staff management capability. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills. - Practical understanding cost control, budgeting and basic financial management. - Competency in computer systems and basic administration tasks. - Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment. - Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays, and outside standard hours when required.
Preferred Attributes - Ability to work effectively with people from diverse cultural and national backgrounds. - Bilingual ability (e.g. English and Chinese). Preferred attributes are advantageous but do not replace the core qualification or experience requirements.
