Senior Qualified Builder Wanted –

Wai Build Group, based in Masterton, is looking for a senior, trade-qualified builder who can confidently run jobs from start to finish across the Wairarapa region.

This is not an apprenticeship or junior role. We are seeking an experienced builder who can take full ownership of projects and work autonomously without day-to-day supervision and work along side junior staff.

• Extensions and alterations

• Insurance repair and reinstatement work
• Our jobs are properly scoped, well planned, and professionally managed.

👉The Role

• You will be trusted to manage your own projects with:
• A clear schedule of hours
• A detailed materials list
• Approved subcontractors provided where required
• Defined scopes — no guesswork or chasing details

👉Your responsibilities include:

• Managing the job on site from set-out through to completion
• Coordinating subcontractors and inspections
• Ordering and managing materials
• Maintaining quality, compliance, and site safety
• Communicating progress, issues, and solutions clearly

Work is based out of Masterton, with projects across the wider Wairarapa.

👉What We’re Looking For

• Senior, trade-qualified builder
• LBP preferred but not essential
• Strong experience in renovations and alterations
• Proven ability to work autonomously and manage jobs end-to-end
• Professional, reliable, and solution-focused
• High standard of workmanship and site presentation

This role is not suitable for apprentices or newly qualified builders.

👉Compliance Requirement

• Must be able to pass a pre-employment Police check
• Must be suitable to work on Government, education, and public-sector sites
