Description
This Arts and Crafts stained glass window is an extremely rare find in New Zealand and would rival some of the windows made at the Tiffany Studios in New York City by Louis Comfort Tiffany, which can sell for hundreds of thousands of dollars overseas. It is also an important piece of New Zealand financial and banking history. Hard to put a value on this; it is a museum piece. It is signed WILLIAM MORRIS, RUSKIN HOUSE, and was commissioned by the National Bank of New Zealand in the late 1800s. I am told by a very good authority that it is very unusual and rare for a William Morris stained window to be signed in such great detail. Please check the photos and note that it is generally intact, with only one panel cracked (see last photo), but all pieces are still there.
