This well-constructed piece of furniture from the 60’s or 70’s has 4 large drawers and has had the top sanded and recoated with polyurethane. The drawer-fronts, top and sides are solid timber; the back, base and drawer bottoms are made from sheet hardboard. The retro metal drawer handles are a pretty rosette shape with a rose in the centre.

There are old borer holes in the drawer-fronts and both sides but it has been treated successfully in the distant past for borer beetle. I considered filling these and painting it, but decided the final colour would need to be decided by a new owner. With this minor renovation, this durable chest will renew its beauty and functionality for the next 50 years!
