Description
An impressive, 14½-inch Standing Rabbit two-part metal chocolate mould with rear basket, made by Laurosch, Germany. These large-format rabbits were the showpieces in confectioners’ windows; you rarely see them this tall. Suitable for moulding chocolate/candy or as standout vintage kitchenalia / industrial décor. Dating to the 1940’s when the industry moved to nickel-clad steel (electroplated sheet), tougher than tin and didn’t require re-tinning.
Vintage/antique metal with minimal age marks. Seams align; designed to be clipped or tied when filling. Condition inside is perfectly shiny meaning you can make some impressive treats for your kids instead of toys. As with all antique molds: wash, dry thoroughly, and consider a light cocoa-butter pre-coat before chocolate use.
This rabbit ticks multiple high-interest boxes—large size, named German manufacturer (Laurosch), sides matched, catalogue #3105 visible, Easter subject, and post-war nickel-clad era— making this a perfect addition for home cooking and baking; decorators / house staging, and serious collectors.
Open to offers. Lots more on the way. Once in a lifetime opportunity, get in quick.

I'm very interested in buying this. However, can't afford the Afterpay installments. Please would you consider, $25 fortnightly installments, being paid directly to your Bank Account? kimbavera (221 • 5:26 pm, Tue, 2 Sep )Hi there, thanks for your interest and appreciate your offer. I would love to help but I’m already letting these go for well below market in order to convert to cash. Are you specifically after rabbits or large moulds? I have some others that might be of interest to you. I’ll add them in the photos and then let me know. hazard888 (183 • Tuesday, 2 September 2025 )If, I'm allowed to pay off the mould. Would you accept $200, for the 2 moulds? kimbavera (221 • 7:22 pm, Tue, 2 Sep )Sorry, I really would need a bit more than that for the 2. I’m already significantly less than I’ve put in. I have added 2 more photos. Let me know if any of those of interest and perhaps we can work something out. hazard888 (183 • Tuesday, 2 September 2025 )I'm interested in making Chocolate Rabbits for Easter. kimbavera (221 • 7:35 pm, Tue, 2 Sep )That sounds great, it’s a cool thing to do. The larger the mould, more expensive they become. Cost also rises for detail and rarity. I.e. 100 years ago, they produced plenty standard sitting bunnies that every chocolatier used but produced few really large ones (12”+) or bunnies riding tractors or bunnies wearing suit, so those lot more rare and costly, especially in usable condition. hazard888 (183 • Tuesday, 2 September 2025 )How much do you want for the 3 little moulds? I'm probably more interested in making smaller rabbits. kimbavera (221 • 7:47 pm, Tue, 2 Sep )The rocking horse is going to be costly. The majority of the moulds I am listing have been collected for their rarity, hard-to-find, unique, etc. so these are all highly sought after in the collectors circles. Collected for many years, from many sources. Not many come from these shores. hazard888 (183 • Tuesday, 2 September 2025 )How much for the smaller Rabbit with Basket on his back? kimbavera (221 • 7:52 pm, Tue, 2 Sep )Hi I can do the smaller rabbit for $95 paid in instalments fortnightly. It’s still a large sized rabbit. hazard888 (183 • Tuesday, 2 September 2025 )How tall is the Smaller Rabbit for $95? kimbavera (221 • 8:26 am, Wed, 3 Sep )It is 9.5” or just less than 25cm tall. This is still on the large side with most of the antique moulds sitting around 4”-6”. Still going to need quite a bit of chocolate to fill it. You would want to make them hollow bunnies not solid. hazard888 (183 • Wednesday, 3 September 2025 )Have added a photo of the exact same mould currently on sale in Belgium for $627 NZD.
