Description

Four jars were obtained in Fiji in the 1930s by family when given away by crew of a Matson Line passenger ship after emptying Coffee Bean contents on voyage from USA. These were subsequently used, since then, as biscuit and other foodstuff storage jars. They have a metal screw top with a metal inner seal plate liner, one of which is missing. The neck opening is 12cm diameter and bottle is 20.5cm high. The bottles have a makers mark that appears to resemble that of Owens-Illinois Glass Co as shown in a photo. The lids have light surface rust discoloration but are more than usable. These are rare specimens it would seem.
