Many of those lovely wide-mouth Chinese pottery jars found in many NZ goldfields sites used large lids that sealed the containers. This is a collection of spare lids I have acquired over the years, condition per photos, some have chips or sections of their flanges missing/damaged. These all date from the c1850-1890s or so.

Also included is a crude little unglazed Chinese pottery plate from around the same period, probably used for something like a sauce or other condiment, dating from around c1850-1870 or so, also dug from NZ goldfields sites. It's complete and in good order, as dug with a small bit of rust staining.
