This listing is for an UNBRANDED Swiss-made BRITISH ROYAL NAVY Stopwatch

The distinctive style of Broad Arrow identifies it as being R.N.

The face is marked "Swiss Made" and was clearly made under a military contract, so there was no need to "sign" the movement

The watch is not running "properly"

It winds and STARTS and runs for a few seconds then "sticks"

The flyback operates and it resets itself.....BUT only runs for a very few seconds.

So I would GUESS that it is not so much "broken" as in need of service or minor repair

I brought this back from the UK sticky-taped to recently sold (for "peanuts") TM item # P241683485, which WELL protected the very fragile arms and porcelain dial face (that still seems 100% perfect) of this stop watch.

Consequently there is yukky stikky tape RESIDUE all over the R.N. Broad Arrow on rear. I expect some solvent such as Methylated Spirits would clean-away with great ease. SEE the TAPE RESIDUE in pictures # 2 + # 3....its NOT stripped plating!!

There is NO Crystal (IE the "glass is missing") that likely no biggie as I would expect that most watch repairers would carry a range of replacement Crystals

I found an externally identical R.N. Stopwatch in a book called "A concise Guide to Military Timepieces 1880 - 1920" by Z. M. Wesolowski (1996)

That watch on page 130 - 131 is similarly unsigned, and does not even have "swiss-made" on the face of the dial

The author states that his is a 4th Type R.N. Lemania brand manufactured watch (A brand that I was previously unaware of)

When I Googled "Lemania Watch Company"? I was ASTOUNDED to learn that they produce some of the WORLD'S FINEST WATCHES

So I would guess that this is a highly collectable watch and well worthy of RESTORATION
