Description
This truly stunning Edwardian styled Walnut bracket clock is in absolutely magnificent condition.
It was hand crafted by the famous German Clock Company Bahische Uhrenfabrick. Founded by Adam Fehrenbach 1860, they produced high quality clocks. Their trademark is a Capital letter B in a crescent.
This example is around 120 years old and features a stunning solid oak case decorated with beaded columns and brass finials. Below the dial is a frett work wooden panel in front of the glass through which the brass pendulum is seen swinging back and forth.
Every aspect of this clock is quality. The face features gold spandrils in reach of the four corners, beautiful Arabic numbers and elegant black hands. The clock has lovely soft gong that is struck on the half hour and hour.
Although this clock has always been well cared fore, the movement has just been serviced - removed from the clock, stripped, cleaned in an ultra sonic, reassembled and oiled using professional Swiss clock oil. Thus the clock is in excellent working order, running for around a week on a wind and keeping good time.
The case has been polished with English wood wax and the glass removed and polished. Thus the clock presents beautifully with the real patina of charm and age.
This timepiece had real presence, it measures 42 cm high, 22 wide and 12 cm deep. Clocks of this style and quality in such wonderful original condition are now very rare to find in New Zealand.
Featuring its original brass pendulum and key this clock will add a touch of class to your home. This is your chance to own a beautifully crafted bracket clock that will endure and only increase in value! Simply wind and enjoy a piece of functional history with undeniable style.
