Description
A rare and gorgeous loose-page ‘book’ printed on cotton fabric comprised of three cut-and-sew dolls in Greek traditional costumes. The doll pages are also bordered with lovely floral motifs.
A total of eight pages, (dimensions 16 x 21cm).
An original item: purchased Athens 1981.
The sewing instructions: are printed (in Greek) on the front-page of each doll.
A decorative option: These unusual and sweet pieces could certainly be cut out and sewed together as per the instructions; but for long-term preservation and appreciation, an alternative option could be to frame the pages so as to make a composite set of four.
Condition: is good with some very light fraying visible on some pages, as well as some tiny spotting, some of which seems to be a part of the original fabric.
The original print quality is best described as perfectly imperfect, where the 'glitches' add to the uniqueness of each image
The item is 'brand new' in so far as the pages are all still intact.
On Label: (The Dolls House Margarita Haralampaki Charitos 36, Kolonaki, Athens)
Instructions for sewing: Cut along the dotted lines. Place together the front and back pieces, (facing together) and sew from A to B, (sew a hem.) Turn right side out and Join the base piece X with the front piece X, sew the base A - B. Fill with cotton wool and oregano. Sew the opening Y.
