Carla Bruni-Sarkozy is the Italian-French singer, songwriter and retired model who is married to former French president and Co-Prince of Andorra Nicolas Sarkozy.

Born in Turin and becoming a professional model at age 19, Ms Bruni went on to have a highly successful career in Europe, walking for all the major designers, gracing countless magazines and fronting very high profile ad campaigns.

This incredibly talented woman left modelling in 1997 to concentrate on music and, once again, had a terrific career and was even invited to sing at Nelson Mandela's birthday party :)

Ms Bruni married Nicolas Sarkozy in 2007 and, as the first lady of France continued to appear in headlines around the world.
