Fabulous and very long vintage tassel clip earrings by MONET featuring a stylish gold tone design with a multi chain fringe design, from the 1960s

Hallmark: MONET PAT.D. Two young brothers, Michael and Jay Chernow, decided to go into business together in 1927 and they chose to call their company Monocraft. They began to make metal monograms for handbags and in 1937, they began producing jewellery and changed their company name to Monet. Some of the first Monet was gold plated with hand-set rhinestones, hand twisted by metal chains. Their careful attention to detail soon won the Chernows' many customers. Military styles and gold plated sterling in the 1940s, bow pins and charm bracelets in the 1950s, pop art and hoop earrings in the 1960s, and pierced earrings in the 1970s. General Mills acquired Monet in 1968 and sold it to Crystal Brands in 1987, where it joined Marvella and Trifari.
