Beautifully crafted sterling silver and amber pendant necklace.

Large pendant stamped on the top loop STG SIL With the makers mark inside a diamond shape which looks like ID

I originally purchased this as Scandinavian in origin, however having done some research I cannot find this makers mark. It had heavy patina on it, so has quite some age to it. I have seen some similar jewellery, with the Norwegian Solje pendants and some vintage Latvian silver work, which like the Norwegian ones echoes the circular alternating discs that surround the amber.

Ornately designed work around the amber gemstone. From a base at the back, which has several holes, six on the outer and one large one in the centre. At the front are six series of alternating sizes of circular flat silver discs, sitting on top of each other, five in total, on top a silver ball, between each one of these two silver leaves. At the bottom of the pendant are three triangle shaped drops, that are etched on the front with a small silver ball at the ends. The chain has an S type clasp.

Chain measures 61 cm in length Links 12-14 mm in length Pendant 4 cm length main altogether with drops 6.5 cm 17 mm height 3.7 cm across

In good condition, some residue patina. Stamp clear on loop. Some faint scratches on back of pendant, amber good, one small tiny scratch on the surface, no chips or cracks.
