Large Vintage Synthetic Ruby set in Silver Ring - setting is loose so stone can come out (easily fixable)
This ring is presumably from the 1950’s, passed down to me.
Ring size K, with inside diameter of 16mm (used the Michael Hill chart for reference).
The stone has been tested and viewed by 5 seperate jewellers, all who confirmed that it is a synthetic ruby. Not sure of the carat weight, but the gem alone weighs 3g on a normal scale.
As seen on the photos, the setting is a bit loose (easily fixable) and the gem can come loose from the ring. The stone unfortunately has a tiny little chip in one corner - this is not visible except under a loupe or magnifying glass.
Ring is silver.
I’m hoping this can go to someone who loves it, or to a jeweller who can make better use of it.
Pickup in Cambridge or can post.
